The Daily Mail has reported that the Low Pay Commission, which recommends changes to the National Minimum Wage to the Government is “seriously considering” advising ministers that the National Minimum Wage should be frozen in order to help businesses through the recession. Presumably, their thinking also takes into account the need to preserve employment amongst lower paid employees.

The current adult minimum wage is £5.73 per hour
