Under the proposals, a worker’s statutory entitlement under the Working Time Regulations to paid annual leave would increase from four weeks per year to 5.6 weeks (pro-rata for part-timers), up to a maximum of 28 days. The consultation seeks views on the potential benefits and impact of increasing the statutory entitlement and, in particular, on measures that may help in managing the additional leave. The consultation ends on 22nd September 2006 and will be followed in December by a Government response and draft regulations.
