Following the introduction of the Employment Equality (Age) (Regulations) 2006, which outlawed discrimination on the grounds of age, it is expected that the first cases will surface at employment tribunals within the next few weeks.
It is believed that some City of London law firms are facing multi-million pound claims from former partners who have been pushed out in order to make way for younger employees. Furthermore, it is understood that claims could be for as much as £10m.
