One of the most attractive aspects of our service for clients of our Advisory Service is the fact that the annual fee for our Advisory Service covers all advice the client requires to take, regardless of the amount of advice. In one recent case, the client telephoned for advice with regard to an employee who was in charge of one of their branch offices. They discovered certain irregularities in the office’s records and initially sought advice from us on how to deal with the situation in terms of a performance issue.
On further investigation, it transpired that there was a huge amount of circumstantial evidence suggesting that the employee had been systematically defrauding the company and its’ clients over a long period of time. It was suspected that the amount of money involved was tens of thousands of pounds. The situation was further compounded by the employee going off sick with a psychiatric illness, once his misdeeds had been discovered.
Over a period of 6 months, we advised the client on a weekly, and often daily, basis in relation to the sufficiency of the evidence against the employee, the disciplinary procedure to be followed, the obtaining of medical evidence about the employee’s condition, the fitness of the employee to attend a disciplinary hearing and various other related matters. Had the client been paying for this advice by the hour, the client’s bill would have been similar to the amount of money they believed to have been stolen from them!
At Xact, we appreciate that predictability of costs is an important issue for our clients, and that no matter how reasonably an employer behaves, a rogue employee can still take up a great time of managerial time and money. Therefore, clients can use the Advisory Service as and when they require, without the worry of additional costs being incurred. |
